This painting is my way of capturing that moment of false calm—the eerie pause before the storm. I portrayed the Joker not in action, but in a moment of apparent stillness, with that unsettling smile that suggests everything and nothing at once.

I surrounded him with vibrant graffiti, layered messages of rebellion, rage, and irony. The golden streak represents the illusion of control, wealth, and even admiration that society paradoxically gives to chaos.

The circular format gave me freedom to break symmetry and let the anarchy spill outwards, almost like a ticking time bomb with no edges.

With Smile, I didn’t want to just paint a character—I wanted to freeze that second where you don’t know if he’s going to laugh… or burn the world down.
