There are corners in old Mexican towns that seem to hold light differently — as if the stone itself has spent centuries learning how to receive it. This portico in Pátzcuaro stopped me because of exactly that.

The way the afternoon sun cut through the arches and landed on those potted flowers, pushing against deep shadow — that contrast was the painting before I ever touched the brush. In watercolor, you don't fight the light, you follow it. And this one led me somewhere quiet and warm.
