Retratos

In “Retratos,” I wanted to go beyond physical resemblance and capture an inner presence. The figure holds herself with strength and serenity, surrounded by a vibrant atmosphere where color becomes an emotional language. Her gaze, directed toward a distant point, suggests reflection, memory, and a quiet dignity that gives power to the entire composition.

I was inspired by the visual richness of Mexican identity: the necklaces, the earrings, the shawl, and the intense tones that build not just a portrait, but a statement of character and heritage. Turquoises, reds, greens, and violets shape the face and clothing with expressive energy, while the textured background adds an ornamental rhythm that surrounds the figure without taking away her presence.

This work is a tribute to the beauty of authenticity. “Retratos” celebrates feminine strength, tradition, and individuality, inviting the viewer to look beyond the face and discover within it a story, a culture, and a voice of its own.
