In “Número 17,” I wanted to honor the quiet poetry of the everyday. An old doorway, weathered by time, stands against a sun-washed wall, carrying the marks of age, memory, and countless untold stories. The cracked plaster, exposed stone, and faded wood are not imperfections to me—they are the soul of the piece.
I was drawn to the dignity of this humble façade, to the way light transforms worn textures into something deeply beautiful. The muted ochres, reds, and cool blue shadows create a balance between warmth and nostalgia, turning a simple corner into a portrait of place and time.
This painting is a celebration of what often goes unnoticed: the character of old streets, the charm of imperfection, and the silent history held within a single door.
