In “Mirada,” I wanted to explore the expressive power of the body when it remains silent. The figure is folded inward, her face lowered and her eyes closed, as though suspended between introspection, calm, and memory. Her pose is not meant to display the body, but to reveal a serene and deeply human intimacy.
I worked with a monochromatic palette of blues and grays to remove distraction and focus attention on gesture, volume, and the delicacy of the lines. The soft modeling of the body contrasts with the precision of the face, braids, and hands, creating a balance between vulnerability and presence.
This work represents that moment when a gaze does not need to meet the viewer in order to be felt. “Mirada” invites contemplation of the beauty of stillness, the connection with oneself, and everything that can be expressed without words.
