The roses in her headdress burst with color and life, in contrast with the skull makeup, reminding us that death in our culture is not an end, but a celebration of life remembered.

As a painter, I let the pigments bleed and bloom like marigolds on Día de Muertos altars—alive with color, emotion, and presence.
