Descanso is an exploration of contrast—between control and surrender, tension and release.

I wanted to depict a moment suspended in time, where the human form is both vulnerable and powerful. The grayscale figure against the stark red background isolates her presence, stripping away distractions and leaving only raw emotion. The pose, with hands delicately framing the body, suggests both repose and intensity, as if caught between dreams and reality.

The tape on the foot is a subtle interruption, a symbol of imperfection in an otherwise sculptural composition. It reminds us that even in stillness, the body carries its own history—of movement, strain, and resilience.

This piece is meant to provoke thought, to invite the viewer into a moment of contemplation, where beauty and fragility exist in delicate balance.
