Catrina Cubo 2 is more introspective. Here, I leaned into deeper shadows, richer contrasts, and a haunting sense of stillness. The roses explode around her like flames, while the blues and golds in her jewelry evoke both opulence and mourning. Her eyes follow the viewer silently — they do not seek sympathy, only recognition.
This piece reflects how Día de Muertos is not about loss, but about the power of color, life, and memory in the face of death. It's a quiet revolution — painted in acrylic, but steeped in centuries of tradition.
