In “Atardecer con jacarandas,” I wanted to capture the almost unreal intensity of the sky when San Miguel de Allende ignites with the last colors of the day. The city stretches out like a mosaic of light, rooftops, and facades, while the silhouette of the Parroquia rises at the center like a spiritual and architectural beacon. Above it, the clouds open into an explosion of violets, blues, oranges, and reds, creating an atmosphere of wonder and grandeur.
The jacaranda trees, scattered among the houses and hills, bring a floral delicacy that contrasts with the dramatic force of the sky. That balance between the monumental and the fleeting is what inspired me: the feeling that the entire city breathes light, color, and memory for a few unrepeatable moments. Each field of color is meant to convey not only the view of the landscape, but the emotion of witnessing an instant suspended between day and night.
This work is a tribute to the visual magic of San Miguel and to the way nature transforms its architecture into a vibrant stage. “Atardecer con jacarandas” speaks of beauty, contemplation, and that moment when the city seems to float between blossoms and the fire of the sky.
