In "Niña Peruana," I explore the depth of cultural identity through the innocent gaze of a young girl dressed in traditional Peruvian attire. This painting is an homage to the vibrant spirit and resilience of the Andean people, captured through the rich, saturated colors of her garments and the thoughtful expression in her eyes.

Using watercolors, I aimed to convey the fluidity and layered textures of her clothing, with splashes of reds, blues, and yellows that mirror the dynamic life and traditions of Peru. The spontaneous drips and blends of color around her figure enhance the sense of life and movement, symbolizing the ever-evolving nature of cultural heritage.

This piece was created in my studio in San Miguel de Allende, reflecting my continuous fascination with the stories and colors of Latin America. "Niña Peruana" invites viewers to look beyond the surface and connect with the soul of a culture rich in history and beauty.
